In just a few short weeks, the L family will be leaving for pastures new, when they up sticks and travel half way around the world to start a new life in South Africa, so I was delighted when they asked me to help them to create some memories of their life here in Orange County before they leave it behind them.
Josh, Manjaree and little Lili were keen to capture the beauty of Southern California, and chose to held their session at a secluded beach location in Laguna Beach which held happy memories - making one happy photographer because this was a great spot with a diverse range of backdrops. They were such good fun to photograph - Josh and Manjaree clearly love life, and there was constant laughter throughout the session, and little Lili is a confident inquisitive little lady who was a little shy to begin with, but it didn't take long to find a sneaky smile hidden in there!
We had one obstacle after another arranging this session - from business trips and vacations, to bad weather, to emergency appendectomies... we began to wonder whether we would ever make it... but finally we did. It was a chilly day for April, and when we got to the beach the sea was rocking up a storm, and three clicks into the session a huge rogue wave came flying up the beach and nearly took out all four of us - thankfully a shouted warning from the L's nanny, who had come along to help us out, gave us the split second we needed to minimise the damage, and after a short pause and a move away from the crazy water we were able to continue with our session.
