Manjaree and Josh, along with daughter Lili, are heading off to start a new life in South Africa in a few short days, and they talked to me about capturing the story of their life in Orange County before they left.
When I first talked with the L family about a photo session we were looking at a family shoot (you can read about it and see the outcome here), but it quickly became apparent when I saw their responses on the pre-session questionnaire, and talked to them during their pre-session consultation that they had another great story to be told too.
Manjaree and Josh initially 'met' on Craigslist, looking for plutonic friendship, and made arrangements to go and see a band together, but curiosity got the better of them, and the evening after they first made contact they met in front of the big wheel at Irvine Spectrum. As they chatted over steaming mugs of coffee, an instant bond formed, and their individual futures quickly became a shared history.
Irvine Spectrum isn't a standard local backdrop for photography, but the management team of the Irvine Company, like me, were warmed by the story, and kind enough to let us use the space to record some happy memories which the L family will be able to look back on for years to come. I would love to have a photo story like this to share with my children in years to come about how their mum and dad met - it's so romantic! Josh and Manjaree are such a fantastic couple, full of laughter, smiles and love, which made for a fun filled, easy flowing session - I'm sad to see them go!
Josh, Manjaree and Lili, I wish you a smooth transition into your new life - can't wait to hear all about it!
